Hi ~

1. Word or phrase that got me: taking him in His arms

2. Emotion evoked: love

3. Invitation I’d like to respond to: “Be like a little child.”  Lucien and I were reminiscing about our respective childhoods.  How, for example, on summer days right after breakfast, we would go out into the world, as if on a mission, with no schedule, no encumbrances, and no goals.  With total abandon, we became one with nature, enjoying the warmth, the sound of birds, the blue of the skies, and the challenge of the hills, eager to discover new landscapes, a hawk, a rabbit, a frog or a field of poppies.  I believe it is that same abandon that often frees us to come more fully to Jesus.  Like Lucy in “Prince Caspian,” in the forest, as she wanders off in the woods, we find the love-figure, Aslan, because we’re unfettered, free from doubts and cares, free to give and receive love to the Father and to others.  Today, I seek to be more open to childlike ways.
